Teeth whitening is one of the best things that you can do for your teeth. It updates the smile and creates a more youthful appearance. Bleaching is quick, fast and safe. There are no long-term harmful effects to bleaching.

There are two different ways to bleach your teeth in our office: Laser Activated In-Office bleaching and Take-Home Tray Bleaching. Both are very effective methods of bleaching and both can accomplish very similar results.

We are partial to the In-Office Bleaching because we can see the results in one hour. So, for that reason our patients typically prefer to bleach in our office. Our Laser-Activated Bleaching system includes a complimentary set of bleaching trays to go home with you so that as the year progresses you can do updates. Laser-Activated bleaching can last up to two years with the tray updates every six months.

Zoom!® Light Activated In-Office Bleaching

We find that the Zoom! light-activated bleaching is a highly effective method of bleaching. It is quick and easy. This amazing tooth whitening system leaves your teeth an average of 8 shades whiter in just 45 minutes, and it has been proven to be both safe and effective.

How does Zoom Tooth Whitening Work?

The active ingredient in the Zoom! whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide. The Zoom! light helps it to penetrate the tooth. As it breaks down, it releases oxygen into each tooth’s enamel and dentin (the layer beneath the enamel). This removes unwanted pigment but does not change the tooth structure. While your teeth are being given their new bright color, you can relax comfortably and if you wish, listen to music.

Take Home Tooth Whitening Trays

Another way to lighten your teeth is with the Take-Home Bleach. Custom trays are form-fitted to your teeth and the bleaching gel is applied in small amounts to the inside of the tray. The trays are worn for a one hour time period each day until the desired shade is achieved. The bleach is a carbamide peroxide. It is also very safe to the enamel and dentin of the tooth.

Bleach trays are the traditional method of bleaching that has been around for many years. This process is less expensive than the Zoom In-Office whitening. It does require a little bit of effort on your part to place the trays each night and update the bleaching periodically.
