Cosmetic Dentistry - Snoreguards

Payson, Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona

Snoring is often a symptom of a lack of airway space. During development the upper dental arch can become constricted and narrow. The lower jaw becomes locked back and inhibits the space between the lower jaw and the throat.

What is a Snoreguard?

A snoreguard is often a very effective way to treat the symptom of snoring. If you or your spouse suffer from snoring, we could supply you with a custom-made device to prevent it. Snoreguards are worn at night to hold the jaw more forward and downward that you naturally hold it while sleeping. This would enlarge the airway space so that as you breathe, the soft tissue in the throat will not vibrate and cause that sound we call snoring.

Our office sometimes uses the Silent Nite snoreguard made by Glidewell laboratories for those patients who are seeking some immediate snore relief.

We also offer orthodontics to correct the bite, which will also help reduce snoring. A full mouth restoration will open the bite, another way to reduce or prevent snoring, as it enlarges the airway space.
